There was a controversial and tensions happening in our country lately concerning faith and religion. The incident has taken place in Taman Medan, Selangor where there was a protest by a group of public to put down a cross which was just put up by the church in front of their premise at a shoplot near Taman Medan.
As a Christian, I do felt upset and I believe most christian in Malaysia are under pressure and struggling to be more moderates when reading or hearing about this incident. But I want to remind all my fellow Christians to stay calm and not adding and stirring up the flames although it might be irrational according to our ways of thinking or believes.
Read 1 Corinthians 1:18, "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." So do we need to be so angry about what has happened lately. Even though it's not easy to forgive, but I want to fight my own will and sinful nature to become Christ witness to others and to become more like Christ.
Persecutions has been mentioned in the bible about 2 thousands years ago (Revelation 20:4), and has been happening for decades now. So let us not be confused and panic whenever this kind of things happen. What has happened lately in our country are not as violence as what is happening in other country where wars are going on right now. Let us put our trust in the Lord our God, and gives our impartial and undivided surrender to Him. Remember that He is God, and He is in control of every situations that happening.
